Back to School...

It's official summer is over.  It is back to school time for the little ones and in my husband's case; the big ones.  When I was little I use to love going back to school.  Not for the education purpose but because it always meant shopping for back to school supplies and new school clothes.

This week my niece started her first day of kindergarten.   As a proud Aunt, I bought her a present to start school in style.  Here is a picture of my happy niece with her new Disney Princesses Hello Kitty backpack.  Nothing but the best for my favorite niece.  Okay!  She is currently my ONLY niece.  Well, this wonderful backpack is filled with activity books and a set of crayons.  She is so smart she is already multiplying at the ripe age of 5.

I hope she fills her new backpack with wonderful memories ;D

Calling all Nerds, Geeks, and Socially Awkward SuperHeros

Calling all Nerds, Geeks, and Socially Awkward Superheros of all ages: Comic-Con is here. Comic-Con is the one weekend that is socially acceptable to be a nerd.  It is the one weekend in the year where N-E-R-D is a four letter word for cool.  Last month I had the pleasure of attending Woot Stock.

You know what that means....A evening of fun, music, and NERDOM to ensue.  That's right!!! Woot Stock 3.0 was here.  We all piled into the Balboa Theater for an evening of adult humor, music, and fun.  Paul, Storm, and Will Wheaton delivered an exceptional 4.5 hour evening of fun.  By the third hour, your cheeks are guarantee to start cramping from all the smiling.

The evening was filled with special guest nerd-f*cking-awesome-superstars.  We had performances from adorable YouTube sensation Molly Lewis.  She sang her famous break up song about Wikipedia.  The best surprise of the evening was when Felicia Day graced us with her presence.  It literally caused a nerd riot when she entered the stage during Amy Berg's (writer from SyFy's Eureka) skit.
If you do not know who Felicia Day is then you have no right calling yourself a respectable nerd.  She is the queen of Nerdom. She reigns number one on any celebrity geek list.  She is the wonderful actress behind The Guild. After Felicia's brief performance, Mike Phirman and Chris Hardwick sang humorous song in Spanish about the <3.   Followed by Rifftrax made everything G-R-A-S-S seem cool.  It was an evening of fun.  If this event comes to a neighbor near you, i highly suggest you attend.

Picture coming soon.
