Good Bye August! Hello September!!! The month ended in a bang; I spent the last few days of the month in the hospital. After visiting my doctor's office for a routine check up, I expressed concerns with the physician assistant who was assigned since my doctor was away for the long weekend. I expressed some pelvic pressure and she and another doctor reviewed my cervix and found that I was 2-3 cms dilated. O_0 The doctor on call decided it was in my best interest to visit the Labor and Delivery dept for further test.
Once at the hospital, they monitored my fetal heartbeat activity and noticed that I was having several contractions during the course of my visit. So they decided to keep me over night for further evaluation. One night lead to two nights of monitoring and several medications later and a visit to the prenatal unit. Hopefully this will be the last hospital stay until the baby arrives in 6 weeks (cross my fingers).
On Saturday, the doctor on call decided that since the contractions have been fairly controlled it was fine to released me. Now I am happy to be home again..resting in my own bed. As doctor's orders, I am on bed rest for the next two weeks. The only time I am allowed out is for doctor's visits. I am having a hard time adjusting to bed rest since, I have been pretty activity during my entire pregnancy. It is difficult to give up my independence and have my hubby take over the controls. I must admit he has been awesome during this whole ordeal. He was by my side through the whole scary process (even slept on the hospital couch multiple nights) and I am so grateful to have such an awesome hubby.

Life according to my camera...
This past weekend as the temperature continues to rise, we looked for creative ways to cool off. So far we found lots of trips to Yogurtland and dips in the pool really helps ALOT. Nothing feels better than lounging in pool when your 33 weeks pregnant. It is nice feeling of not having to support all this extra cargo even if it is short term.
In addition to cooling off, we had our first child care class on Saturday. We practiced diaper changing and swaddling. Than they taught us the basics of child care. Woo hoo!!! We both managed to ace that mini class. I guess this means we are ready to have a baby NOW.

I recently discovered my handsome hubby has a hidden talent in the baking department. When all hope for him was gone in the kitchen, he always manages to surprise me. We inherited his grandmother's Kitchen Aid mixer. He is officially been named the master baker in our house. The other night was no exception. He made us a tray of Chua Spicy Maya Brownies, but this week's treats..MRS. FIELD'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!! Yumm-o!!! Trust me folks these are the best cookies EVER!!!
Here are some photos of his creations.

Valentine's Day Came Early This Year..
This year my Valentine's surprise for my Hubby came a week early. During the week prior, I was a away on a business trip and had been experiencing weird side effects that were uncommon to me. I started one day ravenous and the next moment exhausted and the very next day I had a nose bleed. So my girlfriend Pauline suggest that I take a pregnancy exam. So during lunch we took a quick trip to the store. And before we ate lunch we decided to sneak off to the bathroom to take the test. After 3 minutes, the results read loud and clear PREGNANT!!!!
For the first 20 minutes I was shocked. Thank goodness I had Pauline's support or else I would have been a nervous wreck. After the initial shock wore off, I started share the news with a few of my closest friends in the office. The girls in the office were all very happy. It was really sweet.
Next step was figuring out a way to tell my hubby. After lunch, I decided to tell him not to worry that I got my period because I wanted to tell him in person. So for the next 5 days until I return home, I had to keep the biggest secret in my life. Oh boy was it difficult but luckily for me I had my girlfriends to talk to during this time.
As Valentine's Day was just around the corner, I decided to give my hubby a box of a dozen Sprinkle cupcakes with a special message written across.

Time to reveal the message...
A moment of confusion raced across his face before he comprehended that I was pregnant.
Sheer joy raced a crossed his face once he realized we are having a BABY!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANDSOME!!!
Today marks the day my wonderful hubby graced us with his presences. In honor of his special day, we had a celebratory dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in La Jolla (Crab Catcher). We watched the sunset as we dined on delicious truffle lobster risotto with scallops and stuffed sea bass. It was dinner made from a king. Then we followed up dinner with birthday dessert at the Extraordinary. Now that was truly a wonderful birthday treat.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANDSOME!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Today is the day we have been anticipating for weeks. We are officially hosting our own grown up F-R-I-E-N-D-S--G-I-V-I-N-G!!! We're having friends from far and near join us for dinner. It is quite nerve racking since I've never cooked a turkey in my life not to mention a fancy one with bacon butter. We have prepped as much as possible to prevent any possible mishaps (we already experienced 2!!). Thank goodness our close friends Nitin and Carolina are making the journey early to help with the cooking. Yay!!!
I can't wait to share this fabulous meal with our wonderful friends!!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE~~~

Mama is coming to town...
This past weekend, my hubby's mama decided to drive down and grace us with her presence. We decided to take Hubby's Mama to Prado Restaurant for lunch. The Prado Restaurant is located in the heart of Balboa Park. It has breath taking views and if you are lucky maybe you get to be a surprised guest to one of the many weddings on the lower terrace.
After stuffing our faces full of Prado goodness, we decided to take a tour of the famous gardens of Balboa Park. Here are some photos of our adventures in Balboa Park.
