Good Bye August! Hello September!!! The month ended in a bang; I spent the last few days of the month in the hospital. After visiting my doctor's office for a routine check up, I expressed concerns with the physician assistant who was assigned since my doctor was away for the long weekend. I expressed some pelvic pressure and she and another doctor reviewed my cervix and found that I was 2-3 cms dilated. O_0 The doctor on call decided it was in my best interest to visit the Labor and Delivery dept for further test.
Once at the hospital, they monitored my fetal heartbeat activity and noticed that I was having several contractions during the course of my visit. So they decided to keep me over night for further evaluation. One night lead to two nights of monitoring and several medications later and a visit to the prenatal unit. Hopefully this will be the last hospital stay until the baby arrives in 6 weeks (cross my fingers).
On Saturday, the doctor on call decided that since the contractions have been fairly controlled it was fine to released me. Now I am happy to be home again..resting in my own bed. As doctor's orders, I am on bed rest for the next two weeks. The only time I am allowed out is for doctor's visits. I am having a hard time adjusting to bed rest since, I have been pretty activity during my entire pregnancy. It is difficult to give up my independence and have my hubby take over the controls. I must admit he has been awesome during this whole ordeal. He was by my side through the whole scary process (even slept on the hospital couch multiple nights) and I am so grateful to have such an awesome hubby.

Life according to my camera...
This past weekend as the temperature continues to rise, we looked for creative ways to cool off. So far we found lots of trips to Yogurtland and dips in the pool really helps ALOT. Nothing feels better than lounging in pool when your 33 weeks pregnant. It is nice feeling of not having to support all this extra cargo even if it is short term.
In addition to cooling off, we had our first child care class on Saturday. We practiced diaper changing and swaddling. Than they taught us the basics of child care. Woo hoo!!! We both managed to ace that mini class. I guess this means we are ready to have a baby NOW.

Lucky Day...
Most amazing discovery happened this weekend. I am elated that one of my eBay sales was featured in Lucky Magazine this month. They have an ad for fashion finds on eBay. Early this summer, I sold a beautiful rare Dries Van Noten patchwork silk dress. The buyer initially told me that they were planning to use the dress for a photo shoot. Little did I know it was going to be featured in one of my favorite magazines...LUCKY!!!
Here is my one minute of fame. Enjoy the photos!!!
*****UPDATE***** Just discovered this ad is also in this month's Instyle magazine too. Minute of fame just moved to two minutes. :)

Happy Friday!!!
Happy Friday!!!Tomorrow is officially my 33nd week. This mama-to-be
is getting bigger as the days go by. I seriously cannot believe how
fast this pregnancy has been fly by. We are slowly getting things ready for the little one's arrival. We start classes tomorrow...wish us luck.
Another thing, I cannot believe is I am an aunt AGAIN!!! My sister was induced on Saturday night. She delivered an adorable little boy on Sunday morning. He was 7lbs 4 oz and 20 inches long. He will be the first addition to my side. Both baby and mommy are doing well. They just got released from the hospital last night. They had to stay an extra couple of days since they both got a fever during their stay. Now the happy little family is getting settled.
I can't wait to meet my new nephew. He is the first addition to my side of the family. That little boy has already capture everyone's heart. Auntie loves u!!!

30 weeks and counting...
Today officially marks my 30 week of pregnancy! Whew!!! It is hard to believe that there less then 2 1/2 months left? Which feels like an eternity until we meet our little one, but at the same time it feels like nothing on the planning side. We have so much to do and we have done almost nothing. Time for Panic mode!!!
At 29 weeks...
At 29 weeks...
- Things are has become more and more difficult especially sleeping. I make tossing and turn seem like a sport. It is very difficult for me to find the right spot to get comfortable. Luckily for me, we purchased a Boppy pillow to ease all aches I would receive from sleeping on my side.
- The hubby and I have started the great search of all things BABY. Oh gosh is it a daunting task. Every one seems to have an opinion about every baby product on the mark. In some ways super helpful and other ways it makes our job as consumers even more difficult.
- My appetite has pretty much back to my pre-pregnancy self. I still have cravings for the occasional sweets. I think my baby is taking after my hubby's side. He loves his sweets. Lately, I have been know to finish a chocolate bar in one sitting.
- As the weeks past by, it is getting more and more difficult to walk without the trademark duck waddle.
- Baby boy is definitely making his presence be know. He has been moving around a lot lately. I think he might be a future soccer play or Olympian gymnast the way he does back flips. He mostly spends his time relaxing on my right side.
- In addition, to announcing his presence...the presence of heartburn and in digest have decided to join the party. No fun... at least my other friend swollen feet decided to leave the party early.
- Baby boy is growing faster and faster; so is my belly. Lately, I have been finding myself accidentally bumping into things more often with my belly. Some days I think my belly has a mind on it's own. It accidentally turn on the stove once.
Fourth of July!!!
Early last month, we had the pleasure of taking advantage of doing a little traveling before the baby comes. First stop...SEATTLE!!! Where we spent 5 glorious days visiting with friends and touring the Emerald city one bite at a time. The weather that week was nothing but blue skys and lots of wonderful sunshine. That's Seattle for showing a girl a good time.
I can't wait to go back...

22 weeks and counting...
This week my doctor called to inform us, that my official due date has been moved a forward a whole week. WOOHOO!!! Sorry Boss!!! I might need to miss the tax deadline this year, but I have an appointment to meet my son.
Speaking of the little fella, I have been feeling him more and more each week. Some days he is doing his best impression of Kung Fu Panda. Luckily for me, he is still too small to do any damages. I just can't wait to meet the little tenant that lives inside me. :)
So far this trimester has been really great. I feel more and more like myself. The exhaustion is not there anymore. All my weird food aversions are virtually gone. I was even fortunate enough to be able to eat an In-n-Out burger again. The only downside of pregnancy is the discomfort. As the days pass by I notice more and more difficulties with every day mundane things.
I can't wait to see what the road ahead has in stored for us.

We're having a...BOY!!!
Yesterday afternoon, we went to the doctor's office to have an
anatomy scan of the baby. They measure the progress of it's growth. As
of yesterday I was 19 weeks and 5 days, but based on the baby I am 20
weeks and 3 days. It is has those fierce Scottish genes like it's
cousins. So I should prepare myself for a potential 10 lb baby at this
rate.
In addition to the standard test, we were given the sex of our baby. It appears mama know best!!! It's a little BOY!!! I was so excited watching the ultrasound monitor of the baby dancing and kicking inside of me. I think we might have the next David Beckham on our hands. The hubby thinks the little one has my nose. It is too soon to tell. Regardless, what it's features I imagine a mini version of the hubby. I can see it now...both of them watching Star Trek together wearing matching geeky tees.
After the announcement, we are expecting a little boy this fall. I have already received one marriage proposal for our son. I think based on the sheer volume of little girls my friends are having my son will have a lot to chose from. Good Luck Ladies my baby is going to be a heart breaker !!!
Thank you everyone for your wonderful wishes and support!!!

Bring Sexy Back...
I recently discovered my handsome hubby has a hidden talent in the baking department. When all hope for him was gone in the kitchen, he always manages to surprise me. We inherited his grandmother's Kitchen Aid mixer. He is officially been named the master baker in our house. The other night was no exception. He made us a tray of Chua Spicy Maya Brownies, but this week's treats..MRS. FIELD'S CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!! Yumm-o!!! Trust me folks these are the best cookies EVER!!!
Here are some photos of his creations.

My Sister
My sister has been my role model ever since I was little. I always wanted to be like her. Well, I guess things never change. A month after my sister announced that she was pregnant, I soon followed (just happened..I swear). This journey has been amazing to have my sister around to share. I really appreciate having her as my sister. She is the best sister one could ever ask for.
Here are some photos of her growing belly... she is 10 weeks further then me. She is expecting a little boy in August. Auntie can't wait to meet you soon.

17 weeks and counting...
I am officially in my 17th week of pregnancy and as of tomorrow it will start my 18th week. Things are finally starting to get back to normal. Yay 2nd trimester!!! This trimester so far has been everything I can imagine. Body is slowly changing and I am showing more and more each week. The nausea has virtually went away. The taste of meat bothers me less and less. As for the intense of smell is still here to stay which is never pleasant on gym days.
Being pregnant has it's ups and downs. Nothing more painful than not being able to eat your favorite foods. Oh how I miss sushi, sandwiches, and steak. Not to mention everyone treats with kid gloves. I am still the same person as before just I get a little tired more often and I look like I am a beer chugging champ.
Last week, was the last time I could fit into my skinny jeans. Now I am sporting maternity pants on a regular basis. Let me tell you maternity are even better than I dreamed. They are super comfy and if you're lucky stylish too.
I can't imagine in a few short months we will be welcoming our little one. Watch Out World!!!
I apologize in advance for all the baby talk.

Valentine's Day Came Early This Year..
This year my Valentine's surprise for my Hubby came a week early. During the week prior, I was a away on a business trip and had been experiencing weird side effects that were uncommon to me. I started one day ravenous and the next moment exhausted and the very next day I had a nose bleed. So my girlfriend Pauline suggest that I take a pregnancy exam. So during lunch we took a quick trip to the store. And before we ate lunch we decided to sneak off to the bathroom to take the test. After 3 minutes, the results read loud and clear PREGNANT!!!!
For the first 20 minutes I was shocked. Thank goodness I had Pauline's support or else I would have been a nervous wreck. After the initial shock wore off, I started share the news with a few of my closest friends in the office. The girls in the office were all very happy. It was really sweet.
Next step was figuring out a way to tell my hubby. After lunch, I decided to tell him not to worry that I got my period because I wanted to tell him in person. So for the next 5 days until I return home, I had to keep the biggest secret in my life. Oh boy was it difficult but luckily for me I had my girlfriends to talk to during this time.
As Valentine's Day was just around the corner, I decided to give my hubby a box of a dozen Sprinkle cupcakes with a special message written across.

A moment of confusion raced across his face before he comprehended that I was pregnant.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANDSOME!!!
Today marks the day my wonderful hubby graced us with his presences. In honor of his special day, we had a celebratory dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in La Jolla (Crab Catcher). We watched the sunset as we dined on delicious truffle lobster risotto with scallops and stuffed sea bass. It was dinner made from a king. Then we followed up dinner with birthday dessert at the Extraordinary. Now that was truly a wonderful birthday treat.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANDSOME!!!

Holiday Adventures in Miami...
Holidays have came and went. Luckily for us, we got to spend part of it in Miami visiting family and friends. Our holiday trip was a little rougher then our usual trips. During our visiting to Miami, we got the opportunity to celebrate one of my dear friend's milestone 30th birthday, have a fender bender, celebrate as the best auntie in world (they do not need to tell me, i just know), being an expert at filing rental car claims reports, spend quality time with my sister, and celebrate my very first Chinese Christmas Dinner (usual it is just called dinner).
After Christmas, we headed back to San Diego where we spent the rest of the holidays snuggled on the couch, catching up on our favorite television shows, eating candy from our Christmas stocking, and recovering from a nasty cold.
Here is a photo recap of our trip...
